Unparalleled Approach
Puppy’s First Groom
Bringing a new puppy home to the family is so exciting and rewarding! Your puppy will have many needs, including a new grooming routine. We begin seeing puppies, as early as twelve weeks of age, to help them get accustomed to the process.
With puppies, we have a special process that focuses on exposing them to all the new tools and experiences. We will start with putting them on the grooming table and begin touching their feet, face, ears, and body. This just gets them used to being touched by someone new. We will do a little brushing here as well.
Following brushing, we will bathe, dry, and perform a full brush out. We take our time with them and go at their pace. If they get nervous, we reassure them and let them rest, if needed. Often, they just need a little break.
Once dry, we begin the haircut process. We start with their face, feet and sanitary area. If they seem comfortable with that, and are not too nervous or anxious, we will do their full-body haircut as discussed at drop off.
Puppies are unpredictable. If yours is not ready for the whole haircut, don’t worry. This is very normal! We will set up a follow-up appointment, usually four weeks or less, to keep them in a routine.
If we are able to complete the whole haircut, we will recommend an optimal schedule of four to eight weeks. Maintaining a routine, with puppies, will lead to a more enjoyable experience for your dog in their upcoming years.

Elderly or Special Medical Needs
We welcome the opportunity to help you with your special needs pet. We are experienced with elderly, special medical needs, and behavioral issues.
We work with elderly pets that might not be able to tolerate a full-service groom. Our approach is comfort and ease are the most important factors in working with aging pets. We prioritize getting them in and out of the salon quickly with a compassionate groom. Our process is shorter with this type of groom:
- To start, the focus is on taking the majority of their coat off prior to the bath
- Bathing with a soothing shampoo and moisturizing conditioner
- Our drying process will be the most comfortable we can do for them (we may even sit on the floor with them)
- Following the bathing process, we will do a very quick clean-up to get any stray hair that might be in their way
- Ear cleaning
- Nail care to include dremeling, if tolerated
We will not, in these situations, do much scissor or detail work. It’s more important to limit the amount of time they are standing and are in the salon, in general.

Behavioral Needs
Is your pet on medication for anxiety or mild aggression? Have you been turned away from other salons?
More than likely, we can help you through that challenge. In some cases, you may already be experienced with employing a calming medication for your pet. Other times, we will suggest a medication based on our experience with your pet.
We do require that you try the medication, at home first, to make certain there aren’t any unwanted side effects. Additionally, it is important to know the timing of the medication and that your pet is safely medicated with the dose and type of medication you are utilizing.
We will work with you to develop a maintenance protocol which may include working on tasks at home, additional training, working with a behaviorist, consultation with your vet, and your commitment to a pre-developed regular grooming schedule.
Because of the nature of the work and pets’ unpredictability, we can never guarantee that we would be able to complete the grooming process, particularly nail trims, for highly anxious or aggressive behavior. Additionally, it may be necessary, based on our feedback, to do an express service. (link to express service). In some cases, we will recommend a sedated groom at your veterinarian.

Pricing and Commitment
Our pricing is all-inclusive and based on an hourly, timed model that includes hands-on prepping, bathing, and grooming your pet to your desired style. Not all dogs, with the same breed, are created equal. Your friend may have the same breed as you, but they may have vastly different coats, condition, desired look, and demeanor for grooming. Our timed pricing model is more accurate to the time we actually spend with your pet
We respect our clients’ desire to keep their pets’ coat at the desired length they choose. While we do not perform extensive dematting, we will work with you to maintain the coat in the ideal haircut for your lifestyle and desired look. Typically, that does require most clients to commit to a four to eight-week grooming schedule. We will work with you to achieve the optimal schedule and appearance.
Service rates remain the same, as long as you maintain the schedule, we establish with you. If you are not able to maintain that schedule, the price will change based on the additional time needed to perform the services.
Cancellation Policy
With limited space and availability, we rely on our valued clients to provide us enough time to rebook appointments, when you are unable to keep your reservation. We respectfully request one business days’ notice when canceling your booking. We certainly understand that there are unforeseen circumstances.
All clients will be required to secure their appointments with a valid credit card. No-show or last-minute cancellations, when not able to be filled by another client, will be charged the full expected appointment fee.
